North Airfield

Three of United's support facilities were scheduled to be demolished to make way for the city's new 9C-27C runway at O'Hare airport. The most significant of the structures was the 140,000sf Ground Equipment Maintenance (GEM) facility, along with two support facilities to house various United stakeholders, including the facility maintenance personnel, bussing operation, aircraft move team, and aircraft provisioning/cleaning. The program also included 1.2Msf of apron and taxiway.

Commercial Kitchen

Redesign and renovation of the exclusive food and beverage kitchen for Chicago's McCormick Place convention center. Project management services included design and construction management and coordination of kitchen equipment vendor and general contractor.

CVS Distribution Center

CVS needed additional distribution capacity to serve the New York and New Jersey markets. We were part of the team that led a five-state site selection process that resulted in tens of millions of dollars in public incentives, a build-to-suit 850,000 square-foot highly-automated distribution center, and greatly improved service metrics for its inner-city stores.

The Buckle Distribution Center

The Buckle Stores were enjoying steady growth in its number of stores and sales volumes. Its online business was also growing. Buckle had reached capacity at its existing DC, so it set out to build a 300,000-square-foot state-of-the-art, highly automated distribution center in the town where it was headquartered. Subsequent to successfully constructing the DC, we were asked to help Buckle build a new 100,000-square-foot office building to house its corporate staff.

Navistar Distribution Centers

Navistar developed a number of distribution centers for its parts distribution business: 850,000 square feet in Joliet, IL; 250,000 square feet in Hamilton, Ontario; and 400,000 square feet in Olive Branch, MS. We led these projects as well as a number of other significant projects for Navistar over a period of eight years.

Semblex, Inc. Automotive Fastener Manufacturing

Semblex consolidated three manufacturing facilities into one building. We helped Semblex buy the building and installed the infrastructure to accommodate more than 200 pieces of equipment. We then moved the equipment, each piece being out of service for a maximum of three days. This project was a huge success for Semblex.

ComEd Training Facility

ComEd, the electric power provider for northern Illinois, expanded its capacity to train its staff in clean and modern facilities. We looked at several land sites before settling on a site on the west side of Chicago. We achieved complete stakeholder satisfaction with ComEd’s largest training center, a 90,000-square-foot facility with outdoor and indoor hands-on training apparatus, classrooms, and a public education area.
